About Word Forge
Word Forge is a crossword-style board game with a smithing theme. You play as the forge master and take turns with a computer rival, placing letter tiles on a 15 by 15 board to build words that link up with the ones already there.
Your first opponent is Brenna the Apprentice, in match 1, which lasts six rounds. Each letter tile shows its point value, and bonus squares on the board raise the score: 3L triples a letter, while 2W and 3W double or triple a whole word.
To place a word, drag tiles from your rack of eight onto the anvil board, or tap a tile and then tap a square. Press PLAY to strike the word and score it. Mix shuffles your rack, Swap trades tiles with the bag, Pass skips the turn, and the Bag button shows how many tiles are left, 84 at the start.
A seven-page tutorial explains everything before the first match. New opponents and features open at matches 3, 5, 8, 11 and 14. It plays with a mouse on desktop or by touch on mobile.
