About Cross Math Puzzle
Cross Math Puzzle turns arithmetic into a crossword. The board is laid out like a page in a math notebook, and every row and every column is a small sum. Some numbers are already filled in and some boxes are empty. Your job is to drop the right number tiles into the gaps so that every sum, across and down, comes out true.
A friendly owl in glasses and a green scarf welcomes you to your math notebook and stays on the left of the screen as your guide. The rules are short. Drag a tile into an empty box, or tap a tile and then a box. Multiplication and division are worked out first, then addition and subtraction, from left to right, just as in school.
Because the rows and columns cross, each tile has to satisfy two sums at once. That is what makes the game more than a quick calculation. A number that fixes one row may break the column it sits in, so you end up reasoning about the whole grid. Players who enjoy sudoku or kakuro will recognize the feeling.
Mistakes have a cost. Three hearts sit at the top of the board, and a wrong sum takes one away. There is an Undo button under the board for when you change your mind before checking. Coins are counted in the top corner, and your progress is tracked as notebook stars, out of 75 in total.
New stages open at levels 3, 6, 12 and 17, so the grids get bigger and harder over time. The soft blue paper style and the owl keep things relaxed rather than test-like. It is a good pick for practicing mental math, for kids learning order of operations, or for adults who want a short logic warm-up. It runs free in your browser with nothing to install.
The rules panel stays on screen next to the board, with three short points to remember: drag or tap to place, every row and column must be true, and the order of operations. So you never have to leave the puzzle to look anything up. The first grids are small and use simple sums, which makes them a comfortable place to learn the rules before the larger notebooks.
A smart approach is to find the box that only one tile can fill and place it first. Each correct tile narrows the options for the boxes around it, and the rest of the grid often falls into place quickly after that.
