About Tiny Checkmates
Find the one move that checkmates the black king. Tiny Checkmates turns chess into bite-sized puzzles: instead of a full game against an opponent, each level shows a small board with a handful of pieces and a single task written above it, such as "Mate in 1".
The first puzzle is played on a board only three squares wide, with two white pieces against the lone black king, so you can see every option at a glance. That makes it a friendly way in for people who know how the pieces move but find a full board overwhelming, and a quick warm-up for regular players.
Hint and undo buttons sit under the board, so one wrong idea doesn't end the puzzle.
The game is laid out in portrait, like a phone held upright, with the task at the top and the board in the middle of the screen.

Tips for Tiny Checkmates
- Look at every square the black king could escape to first; the mating move covers all of them.
- Checks that don't mate aren't the answer in Mate in 1: look for the move that leaves no escape.
